Sweet release

Well, at least that is the title I had planned for this post, to announce that I had been released from my Primary calling. I have to say, though, that it is more bittersweet than sweet. I knew that it had to happen, since we are going to be in the ward for only two more Sundays, and (to be perfectly honest) I was really looking forward to being done, but... It is hard to say why it is hard to let go. I guess almost three years of the responsibility makes it a pretty big chunk of your life. Anyway, at least I am extremely confident in the people they called to replace us, and I know things will go on very smoothly, even without me.

In other news, we have spent almost 2 1/2 weeks in our hotel room, and have 2 1/2 weeks left to go. We are officially homeless, since we closed on our old house last week (after an ARMY of people helped us pack, clean, and survive--thanks, Misty, Mubeen, and all the others who helped out!). Now most of that same army is helping to keep us entertained, fed, and with clean clothes as they invite us into their homes so we don't end up killing each other here in our little home.

And finally, I found where I had packed my razor, so now I have much less hair, and wow, that makes a difference on how a girl feels about herself.

I should be...

packing. Blech. Moving day #1 is Saturday. (We get to go into a hotel for a few weeks. Yes, blech again, but having the house sold is worth it. I keep telling myself that, anyway.)

But at least the house is still sold, after taking care of some unknown plumbing issues (of which I will post pictures later, but my camera dock IS packed already, so they will have to wait), and the new house is on schedule (also, updated pictures later), so I am happy that things are going forward!

Now I need to pack clothes so Caytie, Gracie and I can leave tomorrow for Laurie's wedding in Memphis. Can't wait to get there--and I am sure the drive will be unforgettable--and not necessarily in a good way. And yes, that means we will be missing moving day, and missing Ben and Scott and Emma even more. But you're worth it, Laurie, and I think it will actually be better having the little ones out of the way for the weekend.

PS--Laurie, I'd tell you what I got you for your gift, but it's a little Secret. :)
